What is the NHB?

The National Dog Owner’s Certificate is a voluntary, standardized training program throughout Switzerland. It demonstrates that you have your dog under control in everyday life and behave considerately when out and about. The training is based on modern, non-violent methods and strengthens communication between you and your four-legged friend.
Course Content (Theory & Practice):

Safe Daily Life: Proper behavior when encountering passersby, joggers, horseback riders, and other dogs.

Verbal Commands & Handling: Reliable recall, walking on a leash, and getting in and out of the car.

Understanding Body Language: Correctly interpreting your dog’s signals (expressive behavior).

Pet Health & Law: Important basic knowledge about grooming, health, and legal obligations.

Who is this course for?

For all dog owners (from first-time owners to experienced teams).

For dogs of all breeds and mixed breeds (must be at least 12 months old for the practical exam).

For anyone who values a well-founded, practical training program.

Good to know: Upon request, the training concludes with a theoretical and/or practical exam (including an official certificate). Participation in the exam is voluntary!
