At a Social Walk, several human-dog teams meet up for a walk together. The point isn’t for the dogs to play with each other or be in constant contact, but rather to enjoy a relaxed walk together. The dogs learn to stay calm in the presence of other dogs, maintain a safe distance, and focus on their owners. Through targeted exercises and appropriate spacing, encounters can be made positive and stress-free. A Social Walk thus offers a great opportunity to practice dog encounters in everyday life, build trust, and spend time outdoors with other human-dog teams.
