Lur, a wonderful English Pointer mix, was born on March 5, 2022, and stands a stately 70 cm at the shoulder.
Lur’s owner passed away, and unfortunately, there were no relatives to take him in. That’s how Lur ended up at the shelter.
Lur is very affectionate and has a very sensitive nature. Sudden movements startle him. He is also somewhat reserved around men. That’s why we’re looking for a calm, empathetic, patient, and very dog-experienced home—one without children and, ideally, in the countryside.
He was likely kept mainly indoors and in the garden. For this reason, he isn’t used to walking on a leash, and his nose is almost always on the ground, searching for scents. We’ve started clicker training, and we’re slowly managing to get his attention.
It’s possible to walk him alongside other dogs, but he doesn’t want any contact with other dogs. Encounters with unfamiliar dogs aren’t always easy. This is definitely something that needs work. In his new home, Lur would also like to be the only dog and live without cats or other small animals.
Given his breed, he would really enjoy nose work, and it could help him find joy in working with his human. Of course, it would also be great if the clicker training could continue.

Lur is microchipped, fully vaccinated (rabies and combination vaccine), and neutered.
Would you like to meet our affectionate Lur? Then we look forward to hearing from you.
